A local designer, gardener and farmers have joined forces to turn a New South Wales country garden into the perfect getaway.
Story By Lynne Walker
Corporate and absentee ownership of farms is becoming commonplace in Australia today, with varying degrees of success. It is rare to find an example of off-farm ownership that works as well as the property Wiltshire, in the Inverell district of Northern New South Wales. Situated in a dusty valley near Copeton Dam, the farm and its garden flourish in the hands of several guardians.
“I love the way the garden has encouraged birdlife and when we sit on the verandah we become so aware of our surroundings because of the way the garden embraces the landscape,” owner Melanie Bloom says.
