Any trip to South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula feels more like being on a long jetty, with the ocean surrounding you. The peninsula is home to an increasing number of eco-tourism ventures that allow visitors to see marine life in its natural state and get immersed in the underwater world, often literally.
It’s a 672-kilometre drive along the Lincoln and Flinders highways, from Whyalla in the north-east to Ceduna in the north-west, via the southern tip of the triangular peninsula at Port Lincoln. The journey can be done in three days, but to fully explore the coastal attractions, marine life and national parks, a full week is needed.
