An overland journey with Outback Spirit to the tip of Cape York is filled with adventure, history, wildlife and culture.

Any Aussie worth their salt knows that Cape York marks the northernmost extremity of the continental mainland. They’d also know that the journey there is an off-road adventure through a wilderness region infested with crocodiles. And for many of them, therein lies its appeal.

It’s no different for guests on Outback Spirit’s 13-day Cape York Peninsula tour, although the stress of actually being behind the wheel has been removed by delegating that task to tour leader/driver husband and wife team, Ian and Karen Drewett.

The tour to ‘The Tip’, as it’s colloquially known, commences in Cairns, more than 1,000km south. After a night in Port Douglas, 17 guests pile into a Mercedes 4WD coach for the hour-long commute up the Captain Cook Highway to Mossman.
