The Land Rover Defender is a well-credentialled four-wheel-drive with old-fashioned values
Story By Bruce McMahon
In short or long wheelbase guise, as a wagon or a ute, the Defender remains one of the world’s most capable 4WDs. It has earned its keep.
In Australia, it is an iconic vehicle from the Snowy Mountains to the Simpson Desert, from banana farms in the Tweed Valley to Thargomindah cattle stations. In many parts of the world it is also an important tool for emergency services and defence forces.
