Wild Cafe is spicing up the pretty coastal town of Penguin.
Story By Andrew Bain
Since opening in 2004, Wild Cafe has become one of Tasmania’s shining gourmet lights, its Asian-influenced flavours drawing regular diners from as far afield as Launceston, Smithton and even Hobart. “We’ve worked hard, we’ve put in a lot to get here, but it’s been generous to us,” Jacqui Leary says. “Our local clientele here is Tassie wide. Sometimes I look in the dining room and think, wow, here’s this little abode that’s nothing pretty from the outside, and there’s all these people from all walks of life. For me, that’s the best thing.”
