Farmers Cathy and Rick Edmonds brought a unique experience of the Murray River to the South Australian Riverland with the opening of luxury accommodation, The Frames.

Completed in February 2014, these three luxury retreats have amazing Murray River views, pools, spas and the latest technology. “We really wanted to create something special showcasing the river in all her glory and then introduce guests to the area and put the Riverland region on the travel destination map,” Rick Edmonds says. “There were trying times when we both felt we should have concentrated on farming, but now that we are seeing guests relax and enjoy what this area has to offer, it is very satisfying. I guess Cath and I have lived here all our lives, we’re second and third generation, we love the river, we had the piece of land, it’s in a beautiful spot and it’s close to town, then there’s the cliffs, birdlife, creek systems – there’s really a surprise around every bend.”
