A combination of delicious food, a scenic location and great coffee draws locals and travellers into Schnogy’s at Molong in central west NSW.

On November 8, 2005, the New South Wales town of Molong was hit by the worst floods on record, and Kris and Greg Robbins’s café, Schnogy’s, was under half a metre of water. With damage to the floors, walls, furniture, machinery and plumbing, Schnogy’s was forced to close its doors. It was devastating for the owners – especially considering that the café had only been opened for eight months and that the flood hit just weeks before Christmas.
But Kris and Greg Robbins are fighters and, having lived most of their lives in rural Australia, they have seen their fair share of hardships. “We’ve had a lot of major things happen to us in our lives, so when this happened I just thought, ‘get on with it’,” Kris says – and get on with it they did.
